    Description

    Offered is ONE
"Patent Pending" 6" x .4375" Diameter Rod Yawara Stick With Fist-Lockâ„¢.
These are designed, hand made, and assembled in the USA by "Ti Rod Tactical ™" ,  and have the same "Fist-Lock"™  firm grip design as many of my other compact Yawara Sticks.  Multipurpose device is also useful as an Acupressure Tool, and portable Door Knocker.
It is now made with Dupont™ Black Delrin® 150 Homopolymer Acetal Resin.
Previously I made these Yawara Sticks in Nylon, but this is a worthwhile Upgrade in material as it is both stiffer and tougher,... and makes a great choice for this stick.
The length is now 6" by default (as shown in photos)
As these are fairly new products, some of you might be wondering if they might be useful to you? A fellow ebayer bought FOUR of this model in 5-5/8" length without tips installed, but with the optional rubber training tips (becomes 6-1/2" w/tips),......AND a single piece as shown in my other listing but made from Titanium,....also with the training tips that are less painful to your training partners.
(The Training Stick Model is available in another listing)
He gifted the four Nylon pieces to some of his Martial Arts training friends, and this past Wednesday (12-3-15) they worked with them for the first time. He gave me some input as to how the night went as I asked if anyone was hurting! lol  I asked his permission to use his feedback from that first night they all used the sticks, and got his OK....
    He says:
    "Omg
Everyone loves these...Hurts a little here and there...Heard a lot of ohh ouch f... and sh..  Crazy fun making your friends say things they normally wouldn't say. Thank you very much for quality products that do the job and more.....Carry the titanium as my EDC now.
    Thanks much, Riz"
This model is designed to be a FULLY Functional Yawara Kubotan Style high strength Black Delrin  Defensive Stick, and is also VERY light!  The sample I weighed came in at just 28.5 grams or just a hair over 1 ounce. (1 oz = 28.349 grams)
I prefer mine in a compact 6" or so like this (I have an average man's size hand), and I am able to fully pocket carry mine and it's virtually invisible in my jeans pocket.
A stick in 5-5/8" length is also available and is the same price,....just send a note requesting that slightly shorter length. :-)
Personally I always carry at least one of this design (but made from Titanium) in my pants pocket, often with at least one optional rubber cap in place to be more pocket friendly over time (helps to prevent holes with the heavier Titanium, not needed here with the lighter weight), ........as well as other stick types in varying sizes using other carriage modes.
The Black Nylon rod used here is .440" in diameter (a hair over 7/16 inch), is very strong for this use,.....and impervious to the elements so it won't rust or corrode.
Offered at a much lower price point than my Titanium sticks of a similar size and intended use, you'll get to know the "feel" of the fit discussed below, and still have one tough defensive stick without breaking the budget.  I suspect some of you may even decide to eventually upgrade to one of my Titanium versions, and I wouldn't blame you! :-)
A secure grip is something that has often been lacking with the also compact Kubotan style sticks, as they most always seem a bit slippery to me.  I've also never liked the multiple deep cutaway finger grooves often seen  in an attempt to add some security to the grip. The Kubotan sticks are already rather thin, so to cut material away in an attempt to add "grip" is going in the wrong direction. I think what I present here is much better, and initial testing bears that out.
So,.....I offer instead a basic Yawara / Kubotan stick shape, but having a VERY comfortable and secure grip with a high coefficient of friction reinforced rubber central area, that is optimized to the user's hand like no other!
I make these up in a compact 5-5/8" length (about the same size as a "Sharpie marker).  I've found this length fits most folks well and still keep within a "compact" size range, .....and with the central reinforced rubber section that allows a firm and comfortable grip for the "average" sized hand. For point of reference in the photos shown above, my own hand measures 3-3/4" across at the widest part and 3-1/4" across at the base of the fingers, .....and is about average I'd think.
The central grip "ends up" 1-13/16" in length once installed. It's so tight going on that it actually compresses about 1/4 of an inch in length! :-)   This gives a solid "locked in" GRIP with a great ergonomic "feel" in hand, and in a
    very
compact size for ease and comfort in pocket carry!
However, if your hand is exceptionally small or large, let me know and I can optimize the stick and central grip length that will lock the stick within your closed fist and give an ergonomic fit and feel that simply feels great!  Hopefully you'll want to get more training time in,.....and that's always beneficial. :-)
A bit of user "preference" regarding the length of the central grip may eventually come into play, but you'll only know that with time. The guidelines above have worked very well for me and will for you also, until you've had time to determine what you like best somewhere down the road.
The reason for this grip length is simple,.........
As part of the overall ergonomic design, when the central grip length is almost 1-13/16" in length (generally a little wider than the combined width of the middle and ring fingers at the base for most folks), .....this will allow the user to effectively "lock"  the stick into their closed fist (aka "
    Fist Lockâ„¢
" ), .....with about an inch or so of stick exiting the fist on each end as shown in the photo.
With the inside edge of the first finger wrapped around the rod and butted up against the comfortably tapered top edge of the grip, ....and the inside edge of the forth (pinky) finger wrapped around and butted up against the similarly tapered lower edge of the grip,......the stick is effectively LOCKED in place between both ends of the rubber grip within the closed fist!  (see photos to see how well this works! :-)
It's tough to describe how solid and comfortable this feels in various hand  positions,.....but I wouldn't have invested so much time and money into this were it not a significant improvement in the "art" of  Yawara and Kubotan sticks.
I have found that for most folks, these sticks when sized in the 5-5/8" to 6" total lengths work out well and are virtually invisible when pocket carried.
To that end,.....I am offering (in separate listings), various lengths and thicknesses of this stick design but in Grade 5 Titanium alloy, and with a variety of carriage systems.  Please check them out.....
    Thanks for your consideration.
ALSO,....PLEASE make sure Yawara and Kubotan style sticks are legal to carry in your Country, State, City, or Town
    before
purchasing. Some areas may have restrictions on such things, and I cannot possibly know about every specific law in every area of the world. :-)  Your purchase confirms you have complied with your local laws. Thank You.
