    Description

    This is an adapter that claims to allow using a 12BY7 in place of a 7V7 or 7C5 tube.
    During WWII tube production was diverted for military use.
    Because of this, tubes for civilian radio repair became increasing difficult to find.
    The result was that many radio repairmen created adapters to allow the use of other tubes that had the same or similar characteristics in place of the original tube.
    Some even started a small business making the adapters for other repairmen.
    Even though the 7V7 and 7C5 tubes are 6 Volt tubes, the 12BY7 tube can be wired for use in a 6 Volt system, which is what allows this substituion to work.
