Gustavo Novoa (b.1941) a world renowned artist and author, was commissioned, in 1977, by Ringling Brothers, Barnum & Bailey for their 1977 poster and program for the circus. This is the Signed Artist Proof of the Ringling's Brothers, Barnum & Bailey commission. Signed in Pencil in Right corner, "Artist Proof" on the Left lower.Dimensions: 24" x 36" - artwork is unframed. Pictured in this art work is Gunter Gebel-Williams (September 12, 1934 - July 19, 2001) standing with a tiger and a leopard. He was an animal trainer for Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus from 1968-1990. Also portrayed are acrobats, clowns and other performers.This is a very rare piece and I have never seen one in this condition before. Came feom a serious art collectora home, then came into my possession a few years back when I bought it at an estate sale. Needs a new home.
