    Description

Edison Gem Phonograph w/ maroon horn. 1905. The piece exhibits a maroon horn & plays cylinder recordings. Marked Thomas A. Edison, Orange, NJ, & dated October 3, 1905 serial number 334326D. C. 1910.
Outside of Horn is weathered (as seen in photos) inside has some wear but otherwise in good condition and can see the bright maroon.
This original Edison GEM D cylinder phonograph, better known as the Maroon Gem. The Maroon Gem iridescent red Fireside horn was the only Edison horn (other than the decorated Standard E) offered in a finish that wasn’t wood-grained or flat black. The Maroon GEM was also the only GEM that featured factory 2 & 4 minute (ie, combination) gearing and a Combination K reproducer, enabling it to play all cylinder records, regardless of their speed or construction.
