WWI era pins issued by the Daughters of the American Revolution during their fundraiser campaign to fight the shortage of chickens in France during the period of the 1914/1918 Great War.
The Whitehead and Hoag Co. produced the pins in Newark, NJ.
The red, white and blue pin says: "I have a chicken in France" - Each dime collected provided for one egg and each quarter provided for one chicken.
PS:  This is an original pin from the original fundraiser and not a commemorative pin.   I obtain them at an estate auction many, many years ago.  The lady who owned them was the actual person in charge of the fundraiser, and those pins were the left over from that event.
The pins are in pretty good condition with the normal wear for their age.  Some have a some light rust on the back, others have light foxing on the back cardboard.  The front design is good on all of them.

specialize in vintage, collectible items, and antiques.  This means that all of our items are used and despite their good general condition, they will have a certain amount of wear which will be consistent with their age.  These items are generally obtained at auctions or flea markets .  It means I have no idea if they came from a smoking or non smoking home.  I don't smoke, that is all I know, but I do have 3 small and adorable little dogs! so please keep all of this in mind when you bid.  If an item has a more serious issue, it will be noted in the description and highlighted with pictures whenever possible.
