There are also some visible smudges & spots as well as areas where there has been a visible loss of paper. Overall these imperfections do not lessen the impact of the piece

Description

This is a rustic Antique Thai Buddhist Painting / Drawing (Samut Khoi) on black handmade paper. This delicate piece folds like an accordion into two equal halves and shows one Primary Character illustration and four animal illustrations. There is also Thai script wrapped around the sides of the pages. I conservatively estimate the piece dates from the Turn of the Century. This Samut Khoi was purchased by my father and myself in Bangkok in the early 1980's when he owned an antique shop in Penang, Malaysia. We admired these paintings / drawings and actively collected them. Once mounted, matted and framed this Manuscript would show quite nicely.
