On November 14, Masudur Rahman Nannu filed a petition with a local court, and as per the court order, a case was registered last night.
According to the case statement, Masudur Rahman Nannu is a businessman in Jashore. On May 31, 2014, as per instruction of then SP Anisur Rahman, the other accused abducted Nannu from in front of Manihar Cinema Hall in the town. Then, they took him to the Chanchra Police Outpost and tortured him and demanded Tk 25 lakh, threatening that they would kill him in “crossfire” if he fails to pay the ransom.
Nannu was later released when his younger brother Mahamudur Rahman Babu gave Tk 10 lakh to the accused.
But even after receiving the money, the accused shot him in the leg. After that, the police admitted the bullet-injured victim to Jashore General Hospital. Additionally, an arms case was filed against him.
As his condition deteriorated, Nannu was taken to Dhaka hospital under police custody for better treatment. After treatment, the police brought him back to Jashore and sent him to the prison through the court.
